subject: anchors

-> Two anchors are a pain.... and twice as expensive .... besides,
-> better safe than sorry (only takes a few more moments)... especially
-> if a sudden stormcomes up.... then the longer is definitely better
-> ...
Richard: Those are the reasons I like two anchors, if one Aomehow fails
the second one should hold. I doubt that im my 19 foot boat bad weather
is OUT. I have been around the Toronto Islands in 3-4 waves and anything
more is hauling it out of the water time.
-> Also, the bigger the boat, the more the 7-8 times apply.... the
-> longer rode acts as a shock absorber...
  I have more than what the Marine Safety Handbook calls for on a 6
metre boat, although just shy of the 6 metre size. I feel like I have
enough line. If I was travelling over deep water then a longer anchor
line is needed.
