Highly unlikely. It is no secret the father was not happy with the son's
war, especially the unilateral nature of it. That flew in the face of
everything the father believed in. Not for nothing the father spent so much
time and effort in building a large coalition before making a move. There
is every reason to believe that had he failed to build such a coalition, he
would not have gone to war at all. He had seen first hand in Viet Nam what
can happen when you go it alone.
