I grew up in Ontario but have spent over half my life here. One
becomes acclimatized to both the weather and the alternating light/
dark seasons.

It's a shame that some very tasty cocktails got stuck with that
label.

The Bellini was invented at Harry's Bar in Venice where Hemingway
used to hang out. Hardly girly.

The Cosmo is considered a woman's drink but the similarly
constructed Kamikaze is a guy's drink, but why? A splash of
cranberry juice won't turn a man gay.

And why is a Pink Lady considered effeminate yet a Clover Club made
with raspberry syrup instead of pomegranate juice a manly drink,
favoured by Captains of Industry and other manly men like Teddy
Roosevelt at the venerable Philly Bellevue-Stratford hotel?

Here's a pink rum drink ...

MMMMM----- Recipe via Meal-Master (tm) v8.06
 
      Title: Papa Doble
 Categories: Alcohol, Beverages, Fruit
      Yield: 1 Serving
 
           THE DRINK:
  2 1/2 oz White Bacardi Rum
    1/2    of a pink grapefruit's juice
      6 dr Grenadine
      1    Scoop of Ice
           GARNISH:
      1    Maraschino cherry
 
  Mix the drink in a blender. Pour into a glass. Garnish with a cherry.
 
  (That's not the original version that Hemingway liked but a modern
  variation.)
