KW> -=> Mocking Will Eckard to Mark Gaulton <=- > KW> WE> Yes there is a virus that does that. It damages every 3.5 disk stuck > WE> in the infected computer. The read/write pins dig into the disk..... KW>read/write PINS? dot matrix printers have pins (which can dig into the >surface of the media they write on) but disk drives don't... they have >tiny little electromagnetic plates... KW>or was that supposed to be an (ill timed, given the recent outbreak of >hw destroying virus claims) attempt at humour... KW>... quantum chromodynamics - the RGB nature of the universe... KW>--- Maximus 2.02 It wasn't a joke. The virus has be out for about 5 years. I can't think of the name right now. But what it does is that it makes the, I guess you can call them needles, things that write to the disk. It makes them dig into the surface of the disk. Someone tried to give this virus to me but I noticed the file that the person gave me was bigger than it was suppose to be..... I in turn used a hex editor to love at the program and I saw the coding for the virus. I am not sure if McAfee has a cleaner for this virus. I know that there is a cleaner for it, but no idea who makes it. --- þ QMPro 1.52 þ Misspelled? Impossible.
