I assume you will do most of the maintenance. I shudder to think of the ways
you could be ripped off, if you were an unskilled customer.

Don't misjudge your helpers. They mostly had your best interests at heart.
What you need for this remarkable project doesn't come in convenient packs of
ten. You need knowledge and enthusiasm from your advisors; these are not the
