Replying to a message from Rob McCart 1:2320/105 to Michael Gothreau,

About Canada's National Electio, On Sat Jul 03 2004

MG>What did you think of the minority result for the Liberal party?
  >What did you think of the increase in NDP ranks? Do you think the message wa
  >Canadians weren't happy with the status quo, and considered the alternatives
  >still to be a bit unpalatable?

Some excellent legislation can be passed with a minority government IF the
silly little boys and girls THINK about what they are doing and what is
best for the whole not their own interest or political bias.

RM> The result was probably the least harmful alternative. The Greens
RM> and the NDP were, I think, either protest votes against the Liberals
RM> or people who believe everything they hear being bribed by
RM> promisses of great things without explanation of how those things
RM> would get paid for.

Perhaps, but if we want big business out of the political arena what other
choices do we have?

RM> seem to notice Mulroney (Conservative) who increased our national
RM> debt by $300 Billion in just 9 years.

And he sold us out (NAFTA), a one way trade agreement in favour of the
states, screwed up Health Care, screwed up public housing,and more if we
look deep enough.

  >Canadians want responsible government.

We always wanted that, but we got power hungry imbeciles.

My take on Politicians:

Poly = many
Tics = parasite
Politics =  many parasites

RM> That's only a viable 'choice' though if you KNOW what everyone is
RM> planning to do to/for you once they get in...

Get re-elected that is the primary objective.

Hope this helps. Keep us posted.

We are a fine board trying to make it better.
