-> -> TW> The only thing that I recall is that periodic Cleaning -> TW> extends the time in between troubles. -> -> > Not sure what type of "cleaning" Tom refers to -> > but for the HPs I am familiar with the only -> > cleaning is to print a combo test page and -> > cleaning page and then run that page back through -> > print side up to attract loose toner particles -> > and avoid smudging. :-) -> -> Sorry. Not enough -> -> ) -> ( -> C[_] -> -> in me yet to follow that. -> -> Are you saying there's not much or any -> maintenance required? -> -> What I do on the dot matrix machines is vacuum -> the amazing amount of dust and bits of paper they -> collect, oil the main bar, and get the crud off -> the print head, plus occaisionally clean it by -> soaking in methol alcohol. -> -> Dust is the big thing. SAme with the Lasers. the page trick just does part of the job, the drum and paper path. But the printer should be opoened up and cleaned out once in a while just like you do with the Dot Matrix to get rid of the "Dust". Of course the owners manual dosen't outline anything becasue the typical user could damage the printer. --- Platinum Xpress/Win/WINServer v3.0pr5* Origin: Shakey Jake's *ALL FREE BBS* Santee, CA (1:202/1324) SEEN-BY: 633/267 270 @PATH: 202/1324 10/3 106/2000 1 379/1 633/267 |
