Well, I mainly write my own batches, and not many of them uses dates
anyway, so I haven't come upon the problem so many times.

(And, also, when I write scripts that use dates, I mainly do that under
Unixes, and then use something like today=`date +"%Y%M%D%h%m%s"`
(or what it is, doesn't have access to any Unix at the moment), so that's
not a problem).
