The only Class 2 that appears is as per EIA/TIA project 2388 etc
There are not "many different forms"
To suggest otherwise is disinformation

EH> Class 1 and Class 2.0 have explicit definitions.

Class 2's "explicit" definitions can be explicity acquired from
Telecomms Industry Assn
1722 Eye Street N W
Suite 440
Washington, D C 20006

Request EIA & TIA proj #2388
Asynchronous Facsimile DCE Control Standard Service Class 2
TR-29.2 Committee Letter Ballot

Less explicit is:

CLASS1&2.TXT [03] Description of class 1 and 2 fax modes; what they do,
                  how they do it...
CLASS_2.TXT [08] An excellent description of the class 2 fax mode as
it's implimented in Rockwell 144 chipset.
Supra used for example command set but applies to
                  all others

 EH> Current USR modems support
 EH> Class 1 and Class 2.0 commands.

Class 2 works without having the fax machine operator wait for the remote
to answer.
