I agree.  Although I think the sanctions are ridiculous I don't see them as
the root cause of Cuba's economic problems.  The problem is that it doesn't
have an  economic system capable of raising the standard of living
significantly.  Free market capitalism isn't a panacea but could go a long
way towards easing their hardships.
