I don't really know why but many do use the XT version CA> instead of the MM32 version. Got it working now, the trick is to run the executable the first time from true DOS so Win 98 doesn't customize the multimail.rc file in the blink of an eye when you answer "edit now" 'Y". Once I did that it worked fine and I did move MM.EXE to the desktop for the shortcut. Might have to do with Zclobber, I'll have to save the current packet's pointer file sommewhere until I've got the download part of Hypertrerminal PE figured out. For me it was the automated edit done by 98, I deltree'd the install after removing from folders and configured from DOS, then it worked as expected. The reason is for the technically nieve but the effect is frustrating to those profficient until they catch on. Parents never used a hydrometer whose purpose it is to measure specific gravity in the first place. Anyway mine will all be stored until ready in the same large plastic closed storage unit unit I'll use to clean and sanitize the bottles so no big deal.
