LH> I have a p-plant which is the size of a hedge and it's in a 12 gallon
LH> pot (I think that's the size). I'd like to re-pot it in a
LH> half-barrel-size container, but can I do this anytime of the year? Or
LH> just at certain times?
I know why you want to call it the p-plant. I did look up the
spelling, but it's hard to remember without my book. I
don't know for sure, but I would suspect since it's getting ready
to bloom next month you would be better to wait until after that
to repot it. Sometimes plants react strangely to being repotted
and it could cause it to skip the bloom. The p-plant will grow
in the ground around here and they always recommend pruning it
after it blooms, prune it back to about 10-15 inches, then
continue pruning as needed until aaround Sept 1. Then it should
make a bushier, pretty plant when it blooms.
LH> Also, does anyone know if it will make a new plant if I just broke off
LH> a stem and stuck it in the ground?
I've never done it with a p-plant. I guess I never even thought
about trying it, but I looked it up and it says that the method
of proprogation is by cuttings. So it sounds like you're in luck
with that.
