That would be about the time that my local cable company dropped the one
station that carried the show in syndication.  It was always on at dinner
time, so I got to see a full hour of the shows from the "good ole days"
of the Simpsons.  There was a dispute over the cost of carrying the
station, so they dropped them.

There was another station that carried a half-hour of the syndicated
episodes a little later in the evening, but they also disappeared from
our cable lineup sometime not long before the other station did.  :(
