DE> DF> Unfortunately, I've seen far too many facilities where neither of the
DE> DF> above practices are up to my standards.
DE>That's sad, my old vet(the one that casts $50 a visit to tell me very
DE>little, but is an EXCELLENT avian vet) has wonderful boarding facilities,
DE>of course they ;et you see what they look like before oyu send your little
DE>friend into the dungeons, but it's very nice. I guess I'm used to seeing
DE>a good clean area that is kept up and everyone is trained to work there.
I was NOT refering to the boarding situation. However, as you have
mentioned this it does bring up a good point. I don't go along
with that either. My point is the PET BIRDS AT THE RECEPTIONIST DESK.
Those pet birds that are in the waiting room, in the labs....this
is a dangerouns way of making Immune defecit psittacine a target for
an unknown lurking virus/bacteria that the pet bird may of picked
up from the "patient bird" .
A nursery in the hospital is an ideal place for a human baby ....but
that is not the place of babysitting.....the same for a Avian
Doctor of Medicine. Why in the world would anyone take a bird to
a place where all sorts of illnesses walk into the place? Boarding
is not at the vets office unless a medical assistance is needed.
What do you think is in the next room? a healthy bird? WHy is the
doctor a doctor if he/she is a baby sitter of healthy birds?
