Speaking of my wife specifically, since she is smaller than me, she has
easily faster reaction times.  I've set her motorcycle steering much
quicker than mine, she is quite comfortable with it, while I am content
with a heavy touring type feel, even for city riding.  Of course she
prefers her .380 to the .40S&Ws I have, at least until I got a nice thin
set of grips for the Astra.  Fortunately, since I shoot much more than 
her, I can still out-shoot her, but I've no doubt with some coaching and 
practice she could out-shoot me.
In fact, I am going to be getting her a compound bow for my birthday, and 
I'm sure she'll be outshooting me from the outset.
