Gotta remember, outside of Jan Smuts (Pretoria/Jo-burg), Durban and Cape Town, most airports are little regional thingys. I flew to Knysna/George, saw the signs about checking/reclaiming and asked if there were any left over that I could have. I recall the little puddle jumper (no puddles to jump) taking off and the stew saying "Welcome aboard the SAA flight to ... " ... long pause ... opens cabin door ... peeks in ... " to Knysna/George". (I can't remember though whether we flew to Knysna and took a rent-a-car to George or the other way round.)
