about Dpmi Parameters
Hi Jonathan,
JP>Unfortunately, some of the client-side code is in
JP>DOS4GW.EXE itself, I believe.
In the copy with Watcom C/C++ 10.6 this is hauled in automatically by the
stub module. You do need to have the DOS/4GW (i.e. Watcom) directory along
the path, but you don't need to use DOS4GW.EXE to load the program.
With earlier Watcom compilers, DOS/4GW executables had to be loaded via
DOS4GW.EXE because they were linked with an extension of .LE instead of
.EXE. Such programs still need to be loaded the old way, since DOS doesn't
like the .LE extension for a program and the stub is less functional. [But I
expect you already knew this.]
Regards
Dave
