I agree!  A friend of mine also has the MX-1 and I am getting one hopefully
soon.  It does a very nice job and actually helps preserve a lot of quality
even with VHS.  It has its quirks, though.  You can't transition to or from a
still (only the main output is frozen, not individual inputs), can't have
strobe mid-transition.  Has some other little quirks, too.  But, complete 
ith
a rock-solid TBC and some great effects, my personal opinion is that it puts
the Panasonics to shame.  Especially for the $1000 price tag!!
