Well lets see, I'm an NRA member, I'm not a drunk (in fact I drink rarely) I
have never shot anyone, although, as a cop I did point my weapon at some nasty
people. So, why should I be stood up against a wall and shot? For desiring to
protect our rights, freedom, liberties, even your right to espouse uninformed,
emotionally based opinions?

I'll tell you what, let's make a deal. Since you aren't willing to protect my
rights, when my firearms are eventually confiscated, don't come crying to us
when they take away your right to say what you think, to write what you think,
to believe what you want to believe. And please, forgive me for saying "I
told you so" when it happens.

If you were to approach the matter with an open mind and some degree of reason
and common sense rather than act and speak on a purely emotional basis, then
perhaps you can see where this country is heading and where it will be if the
firearms of law-abiding people are confiscated while leaving the criminal with
his illegal weapons and leaving all of us with no way of stopping an
oppresive, tyrannical government.
