  You must be sending your replies by carrier pigeon. I got Paul's
reply a day earlier, and had it fixed by the time I got yours. It's
pretty crook when I have to rely on Paul for technical advice! But it
still beats the shit out of Rod Speed, who merely said a proper system
wouldn't so it. I took that to mean that I didn't have a proper system
because it was doing it :-) I sometimes wonder if Rod realises how
bloody annoying he is.

BTW, I had a nasty shock this morning. My WD250 hard drive wouldn't
boot (DOS - HDD controller failure). Thank Christ is did eventually.
and let me back up all my C and VB programming work, but if it runs 
true to form, it'll be dead in a week, and I'll be trying to collect 
on the 3-year warranty.

  How do I do that - through the seller or the distributor?

PS: Well, it worked again this morning. So far, so good...
