  Hi, I have a simple hanger cover that is in a Learn to
  Crochet book:
  Crochet Hook - Size H-8 (5 mm)
  Row 1:  Ch 7, sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across,
        ch1, turn - 6 sc.
  Row 2:  Sc in each sc across, ch 1, turn.  Repeat Row 2
  until cover fits around hanger, beginning at point, sewing
  end closed and sides together as you go, end at neck and
  loosely sl st together at center.  Trim with ribbon.
