You know, Tom, the main reason those old women were so fanatical is that
they are the last generation of women who didn't have safe access to
abortion . .. and boy, are they jealous of women who did!  I remember one
old harridan who worked on the line at a factory where I was a tech .. .
she was ranting one day about how it wasn;t fair that these young girls
could get off so easy . .. she "had" to get married, hated her
kids, hated her husband, and the feeling was mutual.

Misery loves company, and when they realized they had been martyrs for
nothing, they are really pissed off.

You can't really blame them.
