Same here coupled with asthma.  I have to hold my breath when I go through
the smokers clustered around building doors, and my standard response to
the question re whether I want to sit in smoking or non-smoking in
restaurants is "very non".  Fortunately, the company I work for
now has set up a sheltered smoking area off the loading dock. That means
that the smokers don't have to stand out in bad weather nor do I have to
pass through them as they huddle around the entrance door.  A win-win.
