On the contrary. Some devices look different but the internals (=
working parts) remain the same for years and years. Some devices look
the same but the working parts (= internals chips etc...) are quite
different (Belkin NIC for example). For the latter to make
recommendations is near to a mission impossible. OTOH for the first
group good recommendations are very useful.

My point is:
1. To acquiere used mobo can be very tricky, hence an option reserved to
the very knowledgeable.
2. In order to sort out whether your new toy is recommandable or not you
need 3 months or so, otherwise it would be just wild guessing. But by
that time it's already to late to recommend. Purchased in May an
excellent brand new Gigabyte mobo, boots from scsi CD just like that
(you even haven't to go into the bios) and very stable. But it's gone
already - so you wouldn't be able to do anything with my "recommendation".
