Yes; I've been using it for a couple years now. What version are you using?

Why "2.2.2.2"? Theoretically, it shouldn't matter as long as you define the
localhost properly for tcp/ip, but if you're having problems it might be
prudent to try and get things working under the default settings before you
start tweaking things around...

The "mx" parameter tells chanx to use XOVER instead of NEWNEWS which is
generally the best choice, but you need a watermark file with XOVER. Do you
have a "news.watermark" file in your /iphil.net directory (assuming you're
using at least v1.x; if not hie thyself to ttp://www.egnite.com and pick up
the latest version post-haste!)? The "news.watermark" must be created
manually; plain text file, one newsgroup name per line, ending with a colon,
thus:
comp.os.os2.announce:
comp.os.os2.apps:
comp.os.os2.beta:
comp.os.os2.bugs:
Chanx will update this file automatically when you connect, but each time you
add a newsgroup you'll have to manually add it to your news.watermark file as
chanco only updates the active file.
Feel free to email me directly if you wish. Also consider picking up the
changi mailing list from listserv@gigo.com; lots of good help available
ere.
Good luck!
