Well, I just searched using (canadian "trading with the enemy")
- no brackets, of course and got this: (and this is the
incident
that I was recalling)

On reading one or two of the presented links, I see it suggested that he
was operating a sales office rather than being employed by a Canadian
subsidiary. And I don't recall seeing those stories the
last time that I looked - albeit a year or more ago. Can't remember
the outcome of all of this though :-((
