It's common that in the cvs version some minor issues exist, especially
with compiling on various linuxes. But most of the time they are really
easy to solve, we just need some quality feedback and things will be up and
running again in no time. So, I would add "make report and wait a day
or two" somewhere in between "does not work" and "be
royally screwed" in your algorithm =)
