For what it's worth, I have CDRecord/2 working for the most part (using
the gui) and 2 or 3 blankings is all I can get out of a disk before it
fails further blanking attempts.

I use Memorex 1x-4x CD-RWs, 4x recording and whatever blanking settings CD
Tools defaults to.  I'm relying on someone else's word that these are the
right kind of disks.
