subject: Question about Mac/PC Bas

Hi, forgive me if I'm asking a dumb question here... I'm a newbie on
much of this stuff. I'm looking for a compiler that meets three
criteria (all of which are important for what I'm working on):

1) Must be a compiler that can take a program written in Quickbasic
1.0 and read it with minimal tweaking

2) Must be available for both Mac (OS9 or lower) AND Windows (XP or
lower). Doesn't have to be an actual cross-platform application, but
the same code (copied and pasted, or whatever) needs to work on both
the Mac and PC versions.

3) Must allow large arrays. This is the point I understand the least,
but I know that the old 64k limit for arrays in Quickbasic 1.0 is far
too small for what I need.

Does such a program exist, and does Visual Basic fit the bill? Any
help would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks.
