yes, TED works fine for etiting in that mode (except the help screen is
incomplete) but if you print that out for reference...

FWIW in ted the screen doesn't scroll sideways to follow the cursor to the end
of long lines you need to do ctrl-right / ctrl-left etc to make the screen
scroll.

A design decision I don't know why they made it that way.
other than that 40x12 is non-standard while 25,43,and 50, line modes are
standard.

The mode command doesn't support most of the display modes that are
possible even on standard VGA cards - things like 90 column modes, and 60
line modes etc...

ted is in the V7N19.ZIP PCmagazine file archive, but there is a later
version also dunno where I got it.
