It was tough sledding on the Street until after lunch, then it made some
modest upward progress. Volume was down to -14% below average, so maybe
the Street's players had tough sledding getting into town. Maybe there
are too many seasonal distractions. Don't get distracted when you've
got business to do.

The market seems to have stalled out here. That's not surprizing.
There may be a minor little rally left in the year, but it would
surprize me either if it just dithered. There's still Main Street's tax
loss selling to come. The professionals might jerk them around some,
but for their own accounts I think they're probably going to wait it out
and see what next year brings. The predictions so many made in January
for a "single digits" year seem to have come true. It's up. They'll
take it.

I know, you're "shocked, shocked" to learn it's a game on the Street,
but in the short term day-to-day stuff, it can be!

Timing Signals: I don't use or recommend timing signals, but they're
fun to watch. If I did though, well, I might use something like this.
(Be warned!! It tends to whipsaw around signal points!)

Last Signal: BUY Date: 10/31/05 S&P: 1207
