Assume that boston is out of it by the time Clemens' next start comes
up, since he's said he'll pitch if they're still in it. Clemens' point
was that if he had a long-term contract (or even one that extended into
97), the Red Sox mgmt would be sitting him to avoid injury. If you're a
stickler on the contract then yes, he ought to pitch. But I think too
much is being made of this. A meaningless game on the last day of the
season isn't worth getting worked up about.
