I have an IBM IntelliStation M Pro smp machine that has ecs 1.2 smp 
installed and I can get no sound.

The onboard sound is AC97.  I am assuming the problem is because onboard 
audio, scsi and usb are all on irq 11. Note: the scsi works and so does 
the usb. In the bios the only irq's I can seem to change are the serial 
and parrall ports.  I just flashed the bios to the latest version on the 
IBM site and this has not changed.

Does anyone know away to fix the irq conflict on this machine?

One possible fix that comes to mind is to disable on board sound and 
install a sound card, but I don't know enough about hardware to be sure 
this would work.
