CA> We are already experiencing a lower standard of living but CA> everyone is in denial and unable to see it. Agreed. CA> You may not have heard about the steel company that wants to be CA> released from it's promise to supply medical coverage for it's CA> retirees? Ugly business that. That's one reason that we need courts. CA> I've never proposed a worker's paradise but access to medical CA> care (at a minimum relief from pain and suffering) and a right CA> to a certain amount of dignity and safety in the workplace CA> aren't unreasonable 'requests'. If the request doesn't work CA> there is always another "Bloody Revolution" as the one in France CA> was to solve the 'problem'. ;-) I agree with what you've said, I just don't believe that it's up to the government to do it. In fact, I believe that regardless how well intentioned, government involvement always ends up making things worse for citizens in the end. Instead, this what I envision labor (and other) unions to be for. The court system is to settle "disagreements" over signed contracts. Medical care would be MUCH less expensive if the government was not directly involved. TTYL.
