Hi,
Anyone out there using Changi NNTP Server? I've a problem.
I have installed everything according to the instructions (the only
exception being I'm using 2.2.2.2 as my localhost instead of 127.0.0.1).
I've got to the point of attempting to receive my first news packet.
Which I cannot seem to get. Does the remote host need to know who I am?
When I run "Chanx -mxt -nl news.iphil.net >news.batch" I get the answer
Changx 1.0 - Jan 16 1997 22:40:55
Nothing to post to news.iphil.net
CONN <--- this line gets overwritten
Total Good Bad

I have a valid ACTIVE file in my Changi directory and some of the
newsgroups have unread mail (I checked with Netscape). I can ping
the host and I can download all the lists with the "-l" options.
I tried the "-mxtq" option with the same zero results. Changing
"-mx" with "-mw" didn't yield any results. When I use the "-d"
options the remote host identifies itself as...
200 feed-nntp-news.iphil.net InterNetNews NNRP server INN 1.7
My active file looks like this....
comp.os.os2.announce 0 1 m
comp.os.os2.beta 0 1 y
comp.os.os2.bugs 0 1 y
comp.os.os2.apps 0 1 y
control.cancel 0 1 n
control.newgroup 0 1 n
control.rmgroup 0 1 n
junk 0 1 n
Anyone got any ideas why I'm unable to receive any mail? Any
suggesstions?
Rgds,
Stewart
