-> I'm getting close to needing supplemental O2 myself. Back
That's bad! As I just told Sandy, "Put it off as long as you can." It
may be just me but I get to "CRAVING" the stuff. (Listen to your own
doctor of course.)
-> when I was still flying, I used to switch over to 100% O2
-> to see if there was a difference. Never could tell any boost,
-> or whatever. Couldn't tell any difference when pulling Gs,
-> either.
I used to think it made me no difference. But I firmly believe now that
if I tried to pull the G's I used to pull doing aerobatics, I'd prolly
knock myself out. In Sportsman class aerobatics you shouldn't pull more
than 3 G's but I often came down with my G meter indicating four or
more. I 'Tunnelled out' at four and if I strained my gut NOW, like I
did THEN, I'd sure enough go black.
Where I noticed it most was when I'd had a cigarette just before I went
out to fly a sequence. I fianlly learned NOT to smoke before I flew.
(IF I wanted to fly anything like RIGHT!) Oxygen sure makes me SMARTER
though.
