Odd. I went in for surgury in 1992, and found that I was relatively alert
after the process was done.
I was thinking of a local (which would have been a spinal) just for that
purpose, but the anasthetic was on the whole much less potent than I'd
remembered from my early youth.
Going to the bathroom five hours after the procedure was a bit tough - but a
day later, I was spiffy.
