MW> posible to delete a block of text in Qedit? Right now, I just keep

It sure is! In fact there are lots of ways to do it depending on
what you want to do. I am editing this in version 2.15 so my
instructions will be correct for that version and probably
correct for most other 2.xx as well.

When you press the "Esc" key a menu line comes up which has on
it a choice for "Block" which contains choices for "Mark Line",
Mark Character" and "Mark Kolumn". If you position your cursor
to where you want to start the section, pick one, move the
cursor to the other end. Text will highlight as the cursor
moves. To delete it pick "Delete" from the Block menu. You can
move the cursor with the arrow keys, or any other fast way you
like (Ctrl Right or Left) to move by words, PgDn/Up to move by
 screens down/up, etc.

Pressing "F1" (help) brings up a help screen that shows "F6" is
mark Line block, "Shift-F6" is mark character block, and
"Alt-F6" is mark Kolumn Block. I know (it isn't on the help)
that "Ctrl-Y" will delete the marked block

Those of us who are old enough to remember WordStar (a word
processor popular 10+ years ago) really appreciate that Qedit
(and many other DOS editors ) support Wordstar keys. So I can
mark character blocks using "Ctrl-KB" to start a block and
"Ctrl-KK" to end it, "Alt-L" to mark a line block and "Ctrl-Y"
 to delete a block.
