| subject: | 1541 Files to a XP |
Howdy! I have tried using the MSDOS64 PRG to copy SEQ Files from a CBM FD to a TXT files on a 3.5 inch 720KB FD in a 1581 to put them on a DOS/WIN computer. I've learned that I have to add an extra 254 Spaces at the end of each SEQ File for MSDOS64, because the PRG doesn't transfer any data on the last 1541 BLOCK to the 720KB disk. That is a lot of trouble and I've tried asking about other ways to do it. Years ago I use Bob's Term Pro with the C=64 and a 1200bps Modem and got all of a file I Downloaded from Commodore BBS's or BBS's ran on APPLE ][ or IBM software. Same with files I uploaded to those BBS's. A thought occured to me to try a Terminal program for XP on that pc and use Bob's Term Pro on the C=64 pc and use a Telephone Line Cord from the Modems on the two computers to send SEQ files on to the XP. A Null Modem comes to mind but I haven't researched trying that out without knowing of a Terminal program to use on the XP. Has Anyone got a idea how to get SEQ files readable on a XP? I think VINE is a CBM emulator for the XP but never experimented with it. It seems like I remember it wanted D64 files and I never have done any of them. Many years ago I tried learning how to use ARC and SDA files. Yes, Long time ago. Any Ideas? THANKS! ...
