IIRC, my sloop was at 2.3 ratio. It had one of these new
generation small/efficient diesel, it ran at 2300 rpm at best
mile per gallon setting. Mind you, it had to do with the hull
shape and all.

It made for a very smooth trany. And a Huey needed some.
