Hello James, I'm no expert and I'm trying to get a grasp on the same
thing you are trying to do.
The 3rd party software PSCREEN decsribes what you want to do in Chapter 4
of PSCREEN.DOC. I wish I could help you more, but the doc describes
exactly want you are trying to do. It says you just CALL the screen
by name. I think you might need a PSCREEN library though.
The PSCREEN package is available as shareware, so you can check out the
doc for free.
I purchased Softcode with the upgrade deal I got for powerbasic 3.2.
It has a pretty nifty screen display engine and library system. It
is called Speedscreen. It has a bunch of special effects and the library
packs the screens really tight. I don't see much need for anything else,
unless I want 43\50 line ansi. Speedscreen is only 25 line text-mode.
It's only drawback is that you must have the speedscreen.com included
with your program, and your screen libraries are not "well-protected"
as they would be with your desired method of linking them right into
your program. Who am I to worry?
Hope it helps.
