I wrote about teachers that are being hired who are not qualified and you
wrote back that you thought there were not enough qualified candidates. That
is not true, except in very few places. In California, most of the good
teachers left because of the proposition that was passed. Now they have found
out that did not work and the schools are going to the dogs, there are not a
lot of qualified candidates left. However in most places there are a lot of
qualified candidates, the hiring process however is based on who you know and
not what you know. Too often it is based soley on race and who you know. It
makes no difference if the person hired is black and is hired to fill a quota
or the person is white and is hired just because they are white, both cases
are wrong, but both cases are still happening and the kids are suffering from
teachers who do not know how to teach and don't really care to learn. The are
many teachers out there who are qualified and are subbing to try to get into
an elitist system where nepotism and depotism have taken over.
