Well, I guess you're platform is DOS...
What compiler you are using? If you have DJGPP, Allegro is very good library,
and MikAlleg is great. With MikAlleg, you can have pictures (pcx/ tga/bmp, i
guess...), sound (WAV), and music (MOD/S3M/XM/IT etc.)... if you aren't using
DJGPP, there is still MikMod for sounds & music, and PCX loading routines you
can find anywhere.
