Paul...I'm going to be in London during the first week in    
December.  Any happenings ?  I have been to the boot sales  
on the West end and have picked up radio/shortwave equipment   
at very good prices.  For others out there, I have had no
problems with customs in importing items into the U.S.  Just
remember to keep your receipts.  $400.00 is the limit on
"tax free" items purchased.  Otherwise a 10% import duty
is charged.  For a VAT refund just show the items to a
customs agent in the UK proving the items will be exported
out of the country.  He/she signs a form and you either
receive a check in the mail or your credit card reflects
a credit.
