This has always been a paradox in economics. What they teach you in an
economics textbook doesnt always jive with real life. If demand increases,
the resultant is that the price can either increase or decrease eiether way.
The only determining factor, is how sleazy and greedy the company is. Most
will raise the prices up upon demand, not decrease them.. simply because..
THEY CAN.. and because they make more money, and especially when your
talking about utility companies who are the greediest of all, their sure as
heck not going to lose customers, because people just sit right back and
take the price increases. Of course, small business on the other hand
usually tend to lower prices upon demand. As more people buy a product or
service, the small business can do things like buy in volume or may be able
o
do things cheaper overall, so they pass the savings on to customers.
