I'm a diabetic also and usually those bars are high in carbs and
whenever I eat one, actually 1/2 of a bar, it is when I am on a 15-20
mile ride. Check your BG before a ride, then if you feel that you have
run out of steam, eat a bar, and burn it all off by the time you finish
your ride. Check your BG again. Should be about the same as when you
started out.
Thats the way it works for me. Even Power aid works when you want fast
energy. I asked my Dr. how he felt about a diabetic using those bars
and sugar water; he said if you need it, then use it. Make sure you use
it up though.
Good luck.
