I suspect that if they ever did "separate" that they'd rapidly run into
trouble with their short growing season and lack of arable land, and
they'd rapidly run into real poverty as a 'nation' until such time as
they started selling off the Canadian Shield to big American
corporations who, for what they might lack in concern for natural
resources & environment, more than make up for it with sheer buying
power!

THEN, when that's been totally strip-mined and Quebec is truly bankrupt,
thiy'll come crying to us, holding up the bannner, "Remember
Confederation!" and we're such sucks, we'd take them back, and rebuild
them as part of Canada! :|
