I use OpenDNS and don't have to worry about such problems . . . I recommend
others do the same.  It's a large, free DNS service that's been around for
a long time.  It also can protect your system from malware and phishing.

I also use OpenDNS's free DDNS relay service to keep my BBS's dynamic
domain name updated with changing IPs.
