No. com.sys takes the hardware serial port at COM1. Then usbser.sys
takes COM2 for the USB device.

I finally got the modem to send a fax, but only by connecting it to the
serial port and loading the fmd.sys driver as well as com.sys. That's not
really what I wanted to do, because I don't need for it to be connected
and on all of the time.
I tried it again with the usbser.sys driver loaded and the com port and
fmd.sys disabled. There is a page end error quite a few lines into the
transmission, and then everything seems to be errors.
Here is a log of one failure through the USB to Serial adapter. It starts
when I printed a note to the FXPrint driver. Apologies to those who don't
want to read this. At least it's only text. :-)
