I have to second this. It didn't take me long at all to register the
SIO drivers, certainly much less than the evaluation period. SIO's VX00
gets installed in my PPoint session parameters. I haven't had a bit of
problem with it set up this way.
OTOH, BNU could possibly be made to work. You would have to read the
docs for BNU to find out how to set the com port for the correct IRQ.
You would then have to enter these parameters in the mailer.bat file,
which controls loading/unloading of the fossil when PPoint launches
Binkley Term. The utility you probably need most since you are talking
of non-standard ports is BNUPORTS, which comes in the BNU package (at
least, at the 1.70 level it does). I don't have to use it, so I can't
vouch for it working or not.
You could also try X00, which does support different port parameters and
port mapping if I remember correctly.
Still though, I think the SIO drivers are the better solution overall.
They will probably help with any Internet connections you should care to
make as well. The only downside is that the automatic registration tool
(the dancing elephant) doesn't get along with the SIO drivers.
